Router Recommendation

For a small office, we recommend Cisco and Netopia routers. For home use, we recommend the Linksys routers with QoS feature.

Android Softphone

Configure Luxon's service on an Android device.

UTStarcom F1000

Certain settings of the phone are protected by the UI pass code (not to be confused with the SIP password). This code is described in the User Guide under the Security section, the default is "888888". You need to enter this code before you can modify the SIP password.

The latest firmware, v3.6, has been released.

Quick Start Guide for Broadband IP Phone

These phones come with DHCP enabled. Connect it to your router, then press the "Local IP" button to find out its IP address. Now you can bring up the HTTP configuration page by pointing the Internet browser to:
         http://(ip address)

The administrator password is "19750407". For detailed setup information please consult the full-length IP Phone User Guide, or see a sample configuration for FWD.

Quick Start Guide for FXO and FXS Gateway

These gateways come with a default IP address of 10.1.1.3, and a routing gateway IP of 10.1.1.254. If you change your computer's IP address to 10.1.1.254, you will be able to see the HTTP configuration page by pointing the Internet browser to 10.1.1.3. The login is "root", no password.

Quick Start Guide for Cisco ATA 186

The ATA 186 comes with DHCP enabled. Connect it to your router, and plug an analog phone into the "Phone 1" jack on the back. Press the big button on the top of the device, you will hear "configuration menu" through the phone. Dial "80#" on the phone keypad. The woman's voice will read out the IP address to you. Now you can bring up the HTTP configuration page by pointing the Internet browser to:
         http://(ip address)/dev

Upgrading Firmware on Broadband IP Phone

Do not download this firmware if the LCD screen of your phone displays "WuChuan" or "Phone 1", doing so could damage your phone; you need to contact us for the new firmware. The firmware below is for "Phone 2" only. First you need to download and install the Palmtool executable file and DLL file for Windows. You will then need the firmware program file and pFLash file. The current stable multi-protocol version is 1.38. On your Windows PC, locate the Palmtool program you downloaded and click on the icon to start the program, and follow the steps below to upgrade the firmware:

  1. On your IP phone, select "no check" under "debug".
  2. In Palmtool, Select "Page0" under PFlash Page (2nd column);
  3. Select "AM29LV008T" under PFlash Type (3rd column);
  4. Enter IP address of your phone under "IP address in Chip" (last column);
  5. Click the "Update Program" button (1st column) and load the program file (1Mflash.bin) from your PC;
  6. Click the "Update PFlash" button (1st column) and load the pFLash file (page0.hex) from your PC;
Please refer to the sample screen shot. The latest release, version 1.50, or the SIP firmware, is also available.

Upgrading FXO and FXS Gateway to SIP or H.323

To upgrade the gateway from H.323 to SIP, please download the appropriate 2-FXO SIP firmware, 4-FXO SIP firmware, 6-FXO SIP firmware, 1FXO+1FXS SIP firmware, or 4-FXS SIP firmware, and follow the instructions in the FXO User Guide H.323, FXO User Guide SIP or FXS User Guide SIP.

To upgrade the gateway from SIP to H.323, please download the appropriate 2-FXO H.323 firmware, 4-FXO H.323 firmware, 6-FXO H.323 firmware, or 1FXO+1FXS H.323 firmware.

Configuring FXO Gateway to Forward Calls

The FXO gateway allows you to extend a phone line to a remote location.

  • H.323 Mode: Direct
  • Register Prefix: 0
  • Gateway Service: 2 (hotline)
  • 2nd Dial: off
  • Fast start, H.245 tunneling: enabled
  • Hotline: enter IP address of device to forward to

Disconnect Problem with FXO Gateways

Our tests in the U.S. showed that with the correct tone settings the FXO Gateways will disconnect properly when the caller hangs up. The configuration we used was captured in these screen shots.
